Survey - Admin guide
Â
Admin settings
To access global survey settingsб navigate to Manage apps → Issue feedback → Survey configuration page. Here you can find a few settings influencing all surveys in Jira.Â
This page is divided into tabs each representing own number of settings.
Â
Access
This tab is presented by User survey filter, where you can define what users or user groups should have the ability to create surveys or become survey administrators.Â
Â
Â
For better flexibility your filter can be based both on user groups and users. Each section has both "include" and "exclude" options.Â
For example, adding only one group in the exclude group field will make survey functionality available for everyone except users in the selected group. While adding groups or users into the "include" fields would make survey functionality available only to the selected users or groups.

Â
Â
Notification control
Contains settings that relate to sending emails by the surveys.Â
Â
Email notification
A block of settings that define permission to send emails to potential respondents. Here you can define how many emails is allowed to be sent via the "Send email" sharing method upon publishing the survey. This permission is based on who is the owner of the survey. i.e. only a given number of emails can be sent by this survey where this person is the owner.
Â
Limit of recipients by default - a default limit of emails for all survey owners.Â
Each setting is presented by a separate line and gives information about the limit of emails allowed to be sent based on who is the owner of the survey.
To add a new setting press Add filter. Define the email limit and the users this limit will be applied to. To save changes press Save settings.
Â
Â
Do not disturb
A section to define a list of users or user groups to exclude from email notifications for newly published surveys. Users mentioned in this section will not receive notifications from surveys even if they are selected as recipients in surveys.
Â
Add users or groups to the responding fields to add them to the "do not disturb" list.
Â
Notification template
Â
Email template will be used when sending emails is selected as a sharing method upon publishing the survey. This default email template can be modified here. This template is set as default in all surveys upon creation but later can be changed in each survey individually.Â
Â
Â
Â
Respondents control
A place to control respondents in surveys.
Â
Respondents filter
Define users and user groups who can be added in surveys as respondents. In this section Jira admin can define who can be selected as respondent in surveys (ability to take surveys). By default, all users can be survey respondents.
Add users, user groups to grant them permission to take surveys or exclude them from the list of potential respondents. Â
Â
Â
You can include or exclude groups and users from the potential respondents list using the corresponding fields. Note that settings from the Users section will override the Groups section.
Â
Â
Â
All users
Configuring this setting will enable or disable "All users" option in the "Survey respondents" section (General tab) in surveys where mentioned user is the owner.Â
Â
Â
Â
Survey list
A list of all surveys created in Jira.Â
Â
Use filter to manipulate the displayed information. Search by survey status, owner, administrators or creation dates.Â
Â
You can access any survey setting by pressing the Edit button or press the Delete button to remove survey permanently.
